In my role at the Canadian Chiropractic Association, I was responsible for designing their Back Matters Magazine publications. This encompassed layout design, cover art, images, typography, and shaping the overall aesthetic and presentation of the magazine.
The largest challenge for me was that, at this point, the Canadian Chiropractic Association brand was still new to me, as I had just started. I had to familiarize myself with the brand and its audience to correctly represent the brand while reaching the right audiences.
Researching and reviewing previous iterations of the Back Matters Magazine helped me understand the core messaging and target audiences. Once I established this understanding, designing became much easier.
